In March of 1991, I was on leave from the USMC and attended a wedding of a friend. There, a beautiful, stunning woman in a red dress completely distracted me from everything! Smoking hot, amazing smile, a bit shy. We met, talked, danced and even (dare I say) kissed! I asked her out, she said no! I'd have to "ask her for a real date"! I was simply enamored and that evening told my mother, "I met the woman I would spend the rest of my life with!" Of course everyone thought I was nuts! No way that beautiful, stunning lady go for a young Marine who lives on the other side of the country! She already said no once! Three months later, we were married. Today, July 17, 2017, we celebrate 25 years! We've lived in two countries, six states and moved 17 times. She's been the rock of our home through the best and the worst of times. She's endured two combat deployments, nearly 5 years of separation due to military or other training and work! She spent years worrying if I'd come home when I worked patrol as a cop. She cared for me for months when I could walk or care for myself after I nearly died during a training accident. She's an amazing mother! She's an amazing friend! She's absolute proof that there is a God who loves me! I'm honored and blessed to be married to such an amazing woman, wife, mother of our children, confidant and my best friend.
